Legends of the undefeated "Unsullied" warriors of Astapor are so grand that, she has a hard time believing them; however, if these warriors for hire can lead to her victory in Westeros, she may have to determine exactly what she is willing to give up to get them on their side.

More treachery and deceit follows the young queen-without-a-crown in this tale as she learn and grows and readies herself to avenge the death of her family who were slain by the current King Robert the Usurper.  Daenerys knows thet she has  a path she must follow, and it is the Path of the Dragon.

Blood of the Dragon is a George R. R. Martin novella that was first published in the December 2000 issue of Asimov's Science Fiction magazine. Those six chapters that comprised Path of the Dragon were later published as parts of the third book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, A Storm of Swords. It is reprinted in The Sword & Sorcery Anthology, edited by David G. Hartwell and Jacob Weisman, published by Tachyon Publications,  San Francisco, 2012. The Iron Throne Saga also includes five additional chapters from the second book in the series.
